WHY THE BLUE CIRCLE?

The blue circle is the universal symbol for diabetes. The symbol was created in 2006 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to give diabetes a common identity and provide a means of showing support for the fight against diabetes. The symbol was originally developed for the campaign that resulted in the passage of United Nations Resolution 61/225, which recognizes November 14 as World Diabetes Day. IDF holds all rights to the blue circle for diabetes. Find out more about the symbol at www.idf.org/bluecircle.
